Friend zone or something more?

This is one of too things. She's scared of being alone in college. Unlikely. Or she likes you. more likely. My advice is to see her a lot, and make her feel special, so she doesn't forget you next year in college. Don't act too cling or see her too much, but a good emount. Also, if she's been away, you can probably see if she likes you when she gets back, because she might be extremely happy to see you. When you first see her give her a hug and say "I've kinda missed you, how have you been?"
