Can a Black light in bedroom harm my fish or reptiles?

I recently bought a black light and am wondering if the UV rays will hurt my four tanks of reptiles and fish. I have three geckos, one tarantula, a yellow bullhead catfish, and various guppies, algae shrimp, and a fresh water pleco. Will it hurt any of my animals, or mutate? I will not be putting it over their tanks if I can help it. It is a 17 watt, 24 inch black light. Thank you.
