Questioning my boyfriend's uality?

I'm religious and seeing a 33 year old male who is also religious. We both feel strongly that is something you should wait until you are married for. However, I'm slightly concerned because when we are making out lying down he doesn't get an . I love him dearly, but am concerned this could be a sign that he is gay. There are a few other things he has done that made me wonder; once commented on one of my previous boyfriend's good looks, sometimes will almost shriek in a high voice, will cry at sappy love movies, & doesn't mind holding my purse. This in itself doesn't bother me, but tied with the lack of s - it concerns me. He is overweight and older so I don't know if that could contribute to the problems. I've asked him if he has every wondered if he was gay and he said no. Any advice would be helpful.
